Drug Has Potential to Rid the Brain of Traumatic Memories | Health News: "adrenocortical steroid synthesis inhibitor"

The above link is about the use of a drug that reduces levels of the stress hormone, Cortisol, during the recall of the traumatic event. What I find to be very interesting is the similarity between this idea and a meditation technique known as the Eraser Technique. The way it works is that you bring yourself back into that memory with as much intensity as you can and then you interrupter the pattern. For example at the peek of intensity of the memory you imagine everyone with bunny ears. And you do this over and over until what happens is the memory becomes silly instead of traumatizing and then is easier to deal with. Easier said then done and I am sure with really bad memories it sounds imposable. But the drug does the same thing just chemically. It make it that the memory does not cause stress.
